Privacy Policy

The application collects nothing and transmits nothing. There is no account,
license, telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, auto-update or
network code of any kind. Your searches never leave your device, not even
in the in-browser version (the entire 250,000 word dictionary and 24 million
inflections are loaded into your RAM in the first couple seconds).
The website serves a copy of the same program to your browser. It is static
files behind Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs. We don't add
anything on top of that.
The application
---------------
Taskusanakirja is a single executable with the dictionary, the inflection
index and these documents compiled into it. It works with no network
connection.
The one file it writes is a small layout file recording your pane sizes,
stored beside the binary or, if that directory is not writable, somewhere like
~/.config/taskusanakirja/
It contains two numbers. Deleting it resets your column widths to default.
The website
-----------
Cloudflare, acting as our hosting provider, records standard request
information such as IP address, user agent, and which file was requested. It
uses this to serve and protect the site. We do not run analytics, set cookies,
embed third-party scripts, or build any profile of visitors.
The web version stores your pane sizes in your browser's localStorage, on your
own machine. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Your rights
-----------
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port, restrict or delete
personal data we hold about you, and to complain to your national data
protection authority.
In practice we hold none. The only personal data touching this project is
whatever is in Cloudflare's request logs, which we do not query or export, and
any email you choose to send us.
